Harvesting the Heartland is a visual narrative about the people who sustain Iowa’s land — the farmers whose work shapes both the landscape and the identity of the Midwest. This series is rooted in the everyday moments that define their lives: the early mornings and late nights, the weathered hands and quiet determination, the generational knowledge passed down across fields and seasons.

I am drawn to these stories not for their grand gestures, but for their honesty — the small, unseen acts that keep communities alive and landscapes productive. Through portraits and scenes of daily life, I aim to honor the resilience, heritage, and enduring spirit of those who work the land.
