ROUTE 66
In April 2024, I set out on a ten-day journey along Route 66, traveling from the Midwest to the American Southwest along one of the most iconic highways in the country. Once known as the “Main Street of America,” Route 66 carried generations westward and helped shape the identity of the United States. Today, much of that road has been bypassed, leaving behind small towns, shuttered motels, weathered signage, and historic landmarks that speak to a different era. My goal was to document what remains — not just the physical remnants of the highway, but the stories, communities, and character that still persist along its path. Through each stop, from forgotten service stations to preserved stretches of original pavement, the trip became a deeper exploration of how history endures in plain sight, even as the world moves on around it.
